At one point, the body says no. For me, that happened at the height of my so-called 'success'. Managing Director at an international SaaS company, a jetset lifestyle, designer bags, a beautiful apartment, the BMW... you name it. I was on the perfect track, unconsciously proving in a corporate setting that I could one day step into our family business.

Because at every Christmas dinner and family gathering, the question would return: "And… when are you taking over the reigns from your dad?"

Some people know it in their bones from a young age. Some feel unsure. I was definitely unsure on the surface, but desperately wanting to prove my worth. 

Until I turned 27 and felt so incredibly miserable, in my body, in my mind, and I didn't even realise I had a spirit. Healing from a spinal fusion had something to do with this. I was completely disconnected from who I truly am. That's when I like to say my real life started. The one where I took ownership. It was a painful process. Many things I had built were on quicksand.

Throughout this unraveling, Cape Town became the paradoxical safe space I needed to rediscover myself. No history, no context, complete freedom, and an environment that genuinely doesn't care about what you do, but rather wants to know who you are.

That is what None of Your Family Business is all about.

I am committed to bringing that energy of non-judgment to you. I truly believe it is what unlocks real transformation, not performed, not the habit hacks that work for a little while, but the kind that goes deep into the essence of who we are. The kind that changes our beliefs about ourselves. The kind where we remember.

Within family businesses, we are often raised with the idea that all the knowledge is already in-house. But this isn't about knowledge. This is about cultivating self-awareness and emotional intelligence, arguably the most important skills in the age of AI.

I'm here for the next generation of family business leaders who need an unbiased space to ask the big questions that can't easily be voiced in their own surroundings. Because your heart's desires matter as much as your capabilities. Your strengths, your gifts, your way of contributing, they matter. Not as a liability to the family system, but as a vital source of its renewal.
